A Day in the Life with Jim Cucchi

Hello everyone! I am Jim Cucchi, a Senior Account Manager here at C.A. Fortune based in Boston. I’ve been at C.A. for 5 years and have enjoyed working for this great company. I’m going to take you through a typical day in my life!

I am a very, very, early riser. I usually wake up around 3:30 a.m. I love working out and starting my day off right. I go on the stationary bike, do weights at home, and a 4-mile walk outside when I can. I get home around 5 a.m. and feel ready to start the new day and tackle everything that comes my way.

I make my coffee and breakfast before I log into work between 7 a.m. – 7:30 a.m. Since I am a remote worker, I have a home office which I keep very organized. I have systems in place for time management which equals discipline, which is very important since my position requires a lot of organization.

As a Senior Account Manager here at C.A., I enter promotions with retailers daily and stay on top of it – which is my independent work. I always triple-check to make sure all the promotions are correct, in place, and accepted. I also make sure that Sales Development is looped in on category reviews. In my position, it’s all about the client and taking care of them.

My daily work consists of checking emails and my calendar before having my virtual monthly check-in meetings with clients to go over sales reports. I also connect with clients virtually for promo planning, or any new clients for an intro call which happens weekly. On top of all those calls, I also meet virtually with other account managers.

Around lunchtime, I water my flowers for 15 – 20 minutes before making a sandwich. I usually read an article or watch sports for the time I have left in my lunch break.

I stand while I work 75% of the time. I have a standing desk which I use typically from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. I make sure I’m well-hydrated throughout the day by drinking plenty of water!

Following lunch, I respond to emails along with pending items and follow up on the timing. For the rest of the day, I work on whatever task I have at hand. I always plan to stay ahead whether it’s planning, sending out meeting requests, and/or following up with the internal team. I enjoy having everything very organized and planned out accordingly, especially when category-successful Account Managers are always proactive.

I always finish my workday around 5 p.m. and sit outside on my deck between 6 and 8 p.m. to listen to any games going on or listen to music. I eat dinner and get ready to go to bed by 10 – 10:30 p.m.

Keeping myself in a healthy and happy lifestyle enables me to do what I do in my job and being able to stay on top of my work, the recipe for success!
